Medication Safety & Prescription Policy

At Rockbalm Health, we are committed to providing safe, high-quality pharmaceutical care for seniors. Our operations are fully integrated with our licensed physical pharmacy premises and overseen by a Council-registered Superintendent Pharmacist.

1. Our Prescription Policy

To ensure the safety of our elderly patients and remain in full compliance with the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN) regulations, we adhere to the following:

  • Prescription-Only Medicines (POM): Medications classified as POM will not be dispensed without a valid, legible prescription from a registered medical practitioner.
  • Verification Process: Every prescription uploaded to our platform undergoes a mandatory manual review by our Superintendent Pharmacist. We verify the authenticity, dosage, and potential drug-drug interactions before any medication is cleared for dispensing.
  • Physical Verification: Upon delivery, our clinical team or delivery agents may request to see the original physical copy of the prescription to cross-reference with our digital records.
  • Validity: Prescriptions must be current (usually within 6 months) and must clearly state the patient’s name, the prescribing doctor’s name, and their MDCN registration number.

2. Medication Safety & Authenticity

The health of our seniors is non-negotiable. We maintain the highest standards of pharmaceutical care through:

  • 100% Genuine Sourcing: All medications and health devices in the Rockbalm Seniors Store are sourced directly from NAFDAC-registered manufacturers or top-tier authorized distributors.
  • Cold Chain & Storage: We utilize temperature-controlled storage and specialized transit packaging to ensure that heat-sensitive medications (such as insulin or certain eye drops) remain potent from our pharmacy to your doorstep.
  • Tamper-Evident Packaging: All orders are delivered in secure, tamper-evident seals to guarantee that the medication has not been interfered with during transit.

3. Pharmaceutical Counseling

  • Speak to a Pharmacist: Every order includes the option for a complimentary tele-consultation with our pharmacist. We help caregivers understand administration schedules, potential side effects, and proper storage at home.
  • Medication Reviews: For seniors on multiple medications (polypharmacy), our pharmacists are available to conduct comprehensive reviews to reduce the risk of adverse reactions.

4. Reporting Side Effects (ADR)

  • Stop the medication: If safe to do so, contact your doctor immediately.
  • Report ADR: Notify us via our ADR Reporting Form or call our dedicated pharmacy line at 09116129586.
